Garlic Bread

What you need:
3 cups Whole Wheat Flour
2 teaspoon Active Dry Yeast
2 teaspoon Sugar
1 cup Warm Water
3 tablespoon Olive Oil/ Refined Oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon Chilli Flakes [ spice can be adjusted]
3 - 4 teaspoons Garlic paste
1 tablespoon Milk/Melted butter

How to Make it:
  • In a bowl, take Warm Water, Active Dry Yeast, and Sugar. Keep in a warm place for 10 to 15 minutes undisturbed for proofing.
  • If the proofing is done well, a good frothy mixture is seen.
  • To the proof, add in Olive Oil, Salt, and garlic paste and mix well. Do not over-mix as it spoils the proofing.
  • Slowly add in the Whole Wheat Flour and knead well for about 5 to 10 minutes until the dough becomes soft and smooth.
  • Cover and keep it in a warm place for 1 hour to 1.5 hours or till the quantity doubles in size.
  • Once the dough is double the size, knead well for 10 minutes and roll it on an oven friendly dish.
  • Sprinkle Chilli Flakes and Crushed Garlic. Fold the other half and seal well.
  • Smear a good coating of Olive oil/Refined Oil.
  • Make slight cuts on the bread.
  • Preheat the oven at 180 C and bake the Garlic Bread for 15 - 18 minutes or until the top is beautifully brown.

Optional: Grated cheese [Mozarella/cheddar/ or a combination of both] can be added as stuffing before folding for Cheese Garlic Bread.
