Coconut Chutney & variations

Name of the dish: Coconut Chutney



What you need:

1/2 cup fresh grated coconut
1 tablespoon roasted gram
2 to 3 chilli [spice can be adjusted]
1/2 teaspoon jaggery
1 small piece tamarind

How to Make it:
  • Put all the ingredients in a blender.
  • Add very little water and grind.
  • Adding sautéed  urad daal enhances the flavor. [Optional] 

Name of the dish: Coconut Pudina Chutney





What you need:

1/2 cup fresh grated coconut

10 - 15 Pudina leaves
2 to 3 chilli [spice can be adjusted]
1/2 teaspoon jaggery
1 small piece tamarind
Salt to taste

How to Make it:
  • Put all the ingredients in a blender.
  • Add very little water and grind.
  • Adding sautéed urad daal enhances the flavor. [Optional] 

Name of the dish: Coconut Coriander Chutney





What you need:

1/2 cup fresh grated coconut
1 tablespoon roasted gram
1/2 cup cleaned coriander
2 to 3 chilli [spice can be adjusted]
1/2 teaspoon jaggery
1 small piece tamarind
Salt to taste

How to Make it:
  • Put all the ingredients in a blender.
  • Add very little water and grind.
  • Adding sautéed urad daal enhances the flavor. [Optional] 

Name of the dish: Fresh coriander Coconut with raw onion Chutney





What you need:

1/2 cup fresh grated coconut
1 tablespoon roasted gram
1/2 cup coriander leaves
2 tablespoon of finely chopped onion
2 to 3 chilli [spice can be adjusted]
1/2 teaspoon jaggery
1 small piece tamarind
Salt to taste

How to Make it:
  • Put all the ingredients in a blender except for finely chopped onions
  • Add very little water and grind.
  • Add the chopped onions and mix well.
  • Adding sautéed urad daal enhances the flavor. [Optional] 

Name of the dish: Dry Coconut Chutney





What you need:

1/2 cup dry coconut
1 tablespoon roasted channa daal
2 to 3 red chilli [spice can be adjusted]
1/2 teaspoon jaggery
1 small piece tamarind
1 small onion
Salt to taste

How to Make it:
  • Put all the ingredients in a blender except for finely chopped onions
  • Add very little water and grind.

Name of the dish: Burnt Tomato Chutney



    What you need

    2 Tomatoes [Preferably Raw]

    2 - 3 Green Chilli [Spice can be adjusted]

    2 - 3 Garlic pods

    1/2 cup coriander

    Salt to taste


    How to make it

    1. Burn tomatoes and green chilli on a mesh directly over the flame.
    2. Keep it aside to cool.
    3. Once they are cooled down completely, remove the skin.
    4. Add garlic, coriander and salt. 
    5. Grind to smooth paste.
