Pondicherry has a French influence with beautiful colonial buildings, churches, temples, and statues. I was particularly fascinated by Matrimandir in Auroville.
The peaceful ambiance of the place is very inviting. One has to follow strict rules and regulations when side this sanctum, where people meditate in utmost tranquility. Auroville gives a lot of importance to art and culture and the artists are highly regarded.
Auroville has an in-house shop that sells some of the unique products made by volunteers and artisans.
