What you need

Small Brinjal 5 - 6
1 Onions [Finely chopped]
Tamarind Juice [small lemon size tamarind, soaked and juice extracted]
1/2 teaspoon Chilli Powder
1/2 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
1 teaspoon of Sambar Powder
1 teaspoon of Til
1 teaspoon of Gurul Powder/peanut powder [roasted and dehusked]
3 - 4 tablespoon of Oil 
Salt to taste
Coriander to Garnish


How to make it

  • Slit small brinjals and put them in water.
  • Soak tamarind in warm water and squeeze the juice
  • Chop finely and mix: Onions, chilli powder, coriander, Gurul Powder/peanut powde,  2-3 teaspoon of oil, saambaar powder, til + peanut [1:1 roasted and powdered].
  • Stuff the mix to the slit brinjals.
  • Heat oil in a pan and slowly slide the stuffed brinjals. Add the rest of the left over mix to the pan.
  • Add salt to taste
  • Cook well.
  • Add tamarind juice and water till the all the brinjals are submerged.
  • Cook well for abt 20-30 minutes or until done. 
  • Serve with hot Chapathis/Phulka or as accompaniment.
