Karaathe Kismuri


What you need

2 - 3 Bitter gourd [cut to small pieces]
Oil for deep frying

1 Onion [finely diced]
Corriander

To grind [without water]
1/2 cup fresh grated coconut
2 - 3 red chilli [spice can be adjusted]
1/2 teaspoon dhaniya seeds
1 teaspoon jaggery
1/2 lemon size tamarind
Salt

How to make it
  • Sprinkle a tablespoon of salt and marinate the bitter gourd for 15 - 20 minutes. Drain all the water and spread on a clean dry cloth.
  • Heat oil and deep fry the bitter gourd till they are golden brown to dark brown [make sure not to deep fry till they are charred].
  • In a bowl, add finely diced onion, ground masala, and deep-fried bitter gourd
  • Adjust salt and garnish with coriander.
