What you need:
2 cups Wheat Flour/Maida [or you can use half of Wheat flour and half of Maida]
1/2 teaspoon Instant Yeast
1 teaspoon Salt
2 teaspoon Sugar
2 tablespoon Oil
3/4 cup Warm Water [or required amount to form a firm dough]
How to Make it:
- Mix all the ingredients for the dough.
- Knead well to a firm dough. Add warm water if needed.
- Tuck it to form a smooth ball. Cover and let it rest for 1 to 11/2 hours in a warm place. The quantity doubles.
- Knead the dough for 5 minutes and divide the dough into equal parts.
- Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes in a warm place. This is the second proofing.
- Roll on a parchment paper. Leave it for another 15 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180C and bake for 5-6 minutes.
- Cover and keep to retain softness and freshness.
[The same can be done on a tawa too. Roll a little thicker that Chapathi, and cook on both sides.]
