Mudumalai National Park

Sighting of Beautiful peacock early morning
When we head towards a National park or a Sanctuary, we always look forward to an animal sighting. The journey has always been beautiful, irrespective of weather …We have seen the jungles when it is blooming with rich and lush green fauna and hues of browns.

Many times, when we spot deer, we are overwhelmed, but as we move along, we long to see something more ….Probably an elephant, or a gaur, or a leopard…. And when nothing comes along, we give up convincing ourselves saying, ‘thank god, we at least saw an elephant!!

Sighting of a tiger!

They say animal sighting is just a matter of time or luck…. Yes, it is. We saw a small black fur ball running towards a bush, well a bear, and then just along the bear was a tiger sitting. As we stopped by to have better sight, the majestic cat just walked away. I guess the trip was made!

Elephants at Theppakadu Elephant Camp

A little further down to where we board our Safari van is Theppakadu Elephant Camp, part of Mudumalai National Park, where the elephants are taken care of and fed. A small stream helps these gentle giants bathe by their mahouts. The giants are fed with cakes made of millets, sugarcane, and other nutritious food.
