Zebra/Marble Cake


What you need

2 cups of Maida
1 1/2 teaspoon of Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon of Baking Soda
1/2 teaspoon of Salt
1/2 cup thick yogurt
1 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Oil
3/4 cup Milk

1 teaspoon of Vanilla Essence

4 tablespoon of Cocoa Powder
3 tablespoon of Hot water

How to make 

  • Mix all the ingredients to form a batter consistency. Do not mix or fold in too much as it tends to lose out on density
  • Divide the mixture to half.
  • To one half, add in the vanilla essence.
  • And to the other, add the mixture of hot water and cocoa powder.
  • Preheat the oven to 180 C.
  • Grease the baking dish. 
  • Pour in 2 tablespoons of vanilla flavor batter alternated by the 2 tablespoons of cocoa-flavored batter.
  • Repeat till the batters are over.
  • Pat the baking dish gently for the batter to settle well.
  • Bake for 30 - 40 minutes, or until the toothpick turns out clean.
