What you need
1 cup dry pea [soaked overnight]
2 Potatoes
1 Onion [finely chopped]
1 packet Puri
1 cup Sev
1 Tomato [finely chopped]
1 teaspoon Chat Masala Powder
1 teaspoon Chilli Powder
1 Lemon
Coriander to garnish
To Grind
1/2 Onion
1/2 Tomato
1/2 inch ginger
1 garlic peeled
1-inch cinnamon stick
4 - 5 cloves
1 cup Coriander
1/4 cup Mint
4 - 5 Green Chilli [Spice can be adjusted]
How to make it
- Pressure cook Peas and Potato for 4 - 5 whistles. Add a pinch of turmeric and salt.
- Remove 3 - 4 tablespoon of peas.
- Once it cools down, remove the skin of the potato and mash well with the rest of the peas. Add the separated whole peas.
- Add the ground paste and adjust to gravy consistency by adding water.
How to Assemble
- Crush about 6 - 7 puris in a plate.
- Add in the cooked masala.
- Sprinkle a little bit of onion, tomato, chat masala powder and chilli powder.
- Sprinkle sev and garnish it with coriander.
You can also add a tablespoon of curd to give it a different taste [dahi masala puri].
