Traditional Tales

It's never too late to learn and pursue your passion! 2022's tick in my bucket list!!

It all began when I was in awe with the intricate work that goes in, in doing this painting. It just doesn't end there. You get attached to the painting, as if every line is communicating with you. As I listened to Carnatic music while I worked on my passion, the art grew more closer to me. I intend to work more on this art. I cannot comprehend the amount of work that has gone in this art in the history, as it is indeed RICH! Not by just the look of it, but by the amount of story it conveys.

I can go on and on about the overwhelming experience I had working on my first treasure. I will save it for later :)

Wishing to keep the art alive and going, I will sign off with few golden brush strokes and hues!

Green Space!

I have always liked earthen shades! Well, not just because it compliments the hues of nature, but I believe in “Thing of beauty is a joy forever”.

When I started my passion for Gardening, I knew not more than a few plant names - Tulsi, Hibiscus, Rose, Cactus, Money Plant, and a few other random household plants! Amma has always taken care of her garden, and today has one of the most beautiful home gardens that I have seen! I had always dodged watering her plants, not knowing the joy and pleasure that it gives taking care of them!!

They say gardening is therapeutic. But to me, I love spending time with them. Although the knowledge that I have in knowing their scientific names is very minimal, it definitely brings joy and gleam on my face when there is a new leaf opening up to the beautiful ray of sunshine, or a small flower blooming to a wonderful morning or as a matter of fact, to see a small weed complimenting the entire composition of a plant!
Over the past few years, I have had the opportunity of collecting a few beautiful plants. Well, this time I can proudly say I know not just Tulsi or Money plant [Pothos], but few beautiful succulents, herbs, and ferns. I have even tried growing a few vegetables and greens that can be easily grown in pots like tomatoes, Chilli, Palak, mint, Malabar Spinach, etc.

Sharing a few of my garden beauties here. Hope you are as refreshed as I am and enjoy the journey with my green space as much I did with a cup of hot coffee!

Gastronomical journey!

Hi there :)!

Welcome to my Gastronomical journey, where I have made an attempt to showcase all the dishes (well….more or less) that I have been cooking or baking since 2003.

I would like to thank my parents,  who are such amazing chefs! Amma has been an inspiration to me, who has given me so much of freedom to try out different cuisines from my school days. I still remember her going all the way out to make really yummy dishes when I used to invite my friends over during my school/college days. Well, as the saying goes, history repeats itself - my daughter asks me what I would cook when she invites her friends over :) ….” Well, that's a surprise, I would say!”

I would like to thank each and everyone here on my blog, who has helped me and inspired me in many ways to try out new recipes.

I started designing this blog when a few of my friends started mentioning the spectrum of dishes that I was trying out and how it needs to reach people. Friends who say, I am coming over for simple comfort food, to friends who would just come over and say, I need this :)

I would also like to stretch my arms with a big hug to those friends, who are my punch bags…who will say, yeah it's nice, but maybe you should change or alter the taste [yeah, maybe diplomatic enough to say……you need to improvise on this] …and friends who would say, hey, try this out and tweak it a little.

I would like to thank a few bloggers and food sites who have inspired me to become a better chef! I hope you enjoy my tasteful journey, as much as I did blogging it :)

Cheers!

Travel - Not just a journey!

Travelling is not just to visit a place…

Traveling is an experience!!

An experience that stays on with you for the rest of your life…where you associate with the place, food, people, and their culture. It’s an experience that lingers in your mind. Travel to me is an art, a beautiful JOURNEY. It’s not just about reaching the destination, but the process to reach there.

Many times, the pictures have absolutely not made any justice in capturing the ambiance or the atmosphere of the place, but the experience and the richness still remain fresh.

As much as I have enjoyed my steps to different cultures and places, I hope you would travel this space with me with joy and happiness!

Cheers!
